Colorado's attractive & modern shopping malls offer your favorite brand stores!
In the slide show above, you're viewing pictures of popular Colorado shopping malls which are enjoyed by both local residents and out-of-town visitors alike. Colorado's malls include some of the most pleasant and distinctive shopping centers in the nation!
Which are the "best" Colorado Malls?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but our readers DO have some favorites!
Colorado has some of the easiest-to-like shopping malls in the USA. A number of new malls, including cute outdoor "lifestyle" centers, have opened in the 21st century, giving residents and visitors a superior choice of where they may choose to make their purchases. Also, these new malls are more comprehensive in their offerings compared with shopping centers of the past. It's not unusual at all any more to head to the mall for dining and entertainment. Food courts and fast snack shops have taken a back seat to array of sit-down restaurant choices; and modern theaters with stadium seating, digital sound and 3D projection are expected amenities at most newer malls.
Malls are more these days than places to purchase clothing. Some of our fondest memories can occur in and around today's shopping plazas. The special birthday dinner at a favorite restaurant. A children's birthday party where bears are stuffed or indoor playlands are enjoyed. Memories of purchasing a special prom dress or renting a tuxedo. Or, vacation memories of a lodge-like mall that's nearly as beautiful as the Rocky Mountains themselves.
Everyone who lives or vacations in Colorado surely has their own personal "favorites," and probably more than just one. But, in the past several years, our readers have enjoyed several different malls particularly well. These reader favorites are:
- Southlands outdoor mall in Aurora
- Park Meadows mall in the south metro Denver
- Flatiron Crossings mall, north metro Denver
Our readers also have 2 favorite factory outlet malls, which are the Colorado Mills Mall in the west metro Denver area, and the Castle Rock Outlets between Denver and Colorado Springs. (Although outlet malls aren't the topic of this page, you can discover more about these two exciting & money-saving malls on our site's Castle Rock Outlet Mall and Colorado Mills Mall pages.)
We're glad that our readers have done the choosing for us about what malls should be included on this page. The subject of "Colorado Malls" is a daunting one. Consumers everywhere are rather picky about what their malls look like & what stores they offer...but Colorado residents & visitors, even moreso than other places, seem to chew up malls then spit them out when they're done. Nearly all of the malls that reigned big in the 20th century have been closed or altered beyond recognition. You can compare that with some of the top malls in other southwestern cities such as Houston, Dallas, Phoenix/Scottsdale and metro Los Angeles...where many of the top malls of today were built back with the original mall-building boom of the 1960's thru '80's.
This page is focused on the malls our readers enjoy today, but we also know that many people remember the mall heyday when centers like Villa Italia, Westminster Mall, Southglenn Mall, Buckingham Square and Cinderella City were the stars in metro Denver's shopping galaxy. For those who are interested, you may find several mall-history sites & blogs fascinating...including the Mall Hall of Fame blog; the Labelscar Retail History website; and, sadly, even on the chilling DeadMalls.com website.
Metro Denver Malls---Southern Suburbs
You'll enjoy plenty of fine shopping south of I-70
---Park Meadows Mall is one of our reader's top 3 favorite shopping destinations...and we can certainly see why. Located at the very busy intersection of I-25 and C-470/E-470, the mall is conveniently located for both local residents, tourists leaving & entering the metro area, and workers at the Denver Tech Center. But, having a convenient location is just the beginning of Park Meadow's assets. It's main glory is that it is an absolutely stunning shopping venue, built with strict attention to details and architectual touches around a "Colorado lodge" theme. Out-of-towners who love shopping will enjoy the mall's charming only-in-Colorado atmosphere, that will surely add an extra dimension to their vacation experience.
Opening in 1996, Park Meadows is new enough to be considered a "21st century" mall...and yet, it was finished just before the current fad of outdoor shopping centers came into vogue. This is an especially good thing for local residents who need to make purchases despite inclement weather. Shoppers may enjoy selecting their clothing and accessories in an attractive, modern facility while still enjoying the benefits of climate-controlled comfort. Department stores at Park Meadows include Nordstrom, Macy's, Dillard's and JC Penney's. They are joined by a long list of specialty stores including Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Urban Outfitters, True Religion, Anthropologie, Brooks Brothers and many others.
The Park Meadows address is 8401 Park Meadows Center Dr, Lone Tree, Colorado 80124; this address was formerly in Littleton, if that helps you get oriented. The office phone number is (303) 792-2533. For further info, please visit the Park Meadows Mall page of our site.---Southlands Mall in Aurora

You may remember that the Southlands Mall was mentioned at the top of this page as being consistently popular with our readers---and we agree with them! Both local residents and tourists alike enjoy the mall's easy access to a major freeway (the E-470 tollway,) along with the center's good selection of stores, and the relaxing pleasure of shopping in such a lovely atmosphere. Popular women's stores here include Chico's, Talbot's and White House/Black Market; with Tilly's, American Eagle & Zumiez for teens. Major restaurants include PF Chang's, On the Border and the Olive Garden.

---Southwest Plaza in western Littleton is located in an appealing area with the beautiful Rocky Mountain foothills as a backdrop. ---The Streets at SouthGlenn is a new outdoor mall which has replaced the older Southglenn Mall in Littleton (except that nowadays, this area is included in the city of Centennial.) The Macy's and Sears department stores remain from the mall's former life as an indoor, climate-controlled center. A cute modern lifestyle center has arisen in the place of the mall's corridors and former stores...and a modern stadium-style cinema has been added to the equation, as well. For complete information, please view the Streets at Southglenn website.
