The huge, climate-controlled Colorado Mills Mall is the state of Colorado's largest factory outlet mall. It's larger in size, it holds more stores, and it has a greater variety of both outlet stores (and some "regular" non-outlet shops mixed in, too.)
In other words, if you like shopping...and particularly if you like bargain-hunting, you owe it to yourself to visit Colorado Mills. For visitors heading up into the Rocky Mountains, the Colorado Mills outlet mall is right on the way...located close to the spot where Interstate 70 begins its long ascent into the mountains from metro Denver and the plains. For residents of greater Denver, and visitors to other area attractions, this foothills-area outlet mall may not be conveniently situated to work easily into your plans. Nevertheless, this is one shopping center that true shoppaholics should definitely work into their schedules. Even guests who don't enjoy shopping can have fun at Colorado Mills. There are several restaurants at the mall, plus a number of entertainment options, as well. Movie lovers can take in a newly-released film at the mall's modern UA/United Artists Theater. Plus, there's an indoor mini golf course; a Jillian's bowling center & arcade; and still more fun (which we'll talk about later on this page.) Since the Colorado Mills Mall is so very large, it has been divided into different "neighborhoods" to help you remember where you are and where to find the various stores. Though the mall's architecture looks the same on the outside, the interior spaces are decorated differently in each of the mall's neighborhoods.
Although there are clothing stores sprinkled throughout all of the mall's different areas, as a GENERAL RULE, the most upscale clothing outlets are located in on the mall's southwest side in an area dubbed "The Fashion District." From the outside of the mall, you can tell this neighborhood because the Last Call Neiman Marcus store is here...and so is the Off 5th/Saks Fifth Avenue outlet. Inside the mall, a world of upscale outlets awaits shoppers in The Fashion District. That's where you'll find the Brooks Brothers outlet store, along with the St John's outlet, BCBG Max Azria outlet, Kenneth Cole and other distinctive outlet shopping opportunities. A number of stores at Colorado Mills Mall sell accessories to match the type of clothing they sell. And, of course, the large stores like Last Call Neiman Marcus have complete accessories departments. Nevertheless, you'll also find quite a number of outlet stores in the mall which specialize in one particular accessory or another...shoe outlets, jewelry stores, sunglasses, or other types of general accessories.

There's a special area at the Colorado Mills Mall where you'll want to head if you've got kids along on your outing. That area is Neighborhood 5, which is decorated especially to appeal to the little ones in your family.
A cute kiddie playground is the centerpiece of the Neighborhood 5 children's area. Toddlers and preschoolers will find places to climb and meander around while getting their wiggles out. Older kids will enjoy several video games set up in this area. The theme is "farm & garden," and props in the area look like vegetables, twining plants, insects and butterflies! In additions to the free children's play area (with benches for parents to enjoy, as well) you'll also be glad to find that most of the mall's children's stores are centered in Neighborhood 5. (No, not all of them...but MOST.) In one swoop, your children can head to stuff a plush animal or build a Lego creation (at one of the Lego store's free play tables.) Furnishing and decorating a home is certainly not inexpensive, so if you can pick up a few bargains to make your task easier, then so much the better. You'll find something for nearly every room of the house while you're exploring the mall, and maybe you'll find just the right furnishing, decor item...or maybe even a stereo...that you were seeking. Special stores at Colorado MillsThere are a couple of stores at Colorado Mills whose wares span a number of different categories. One of these is The Sports Authority, phone number 303/277-1841. A large portion of the store is given over to athletic shoes...which are accessories. Yet, a large portion of the sales floor is devoted to athletic apparel. Then, a wide range of athletic equipment and accessories is sold, as well.Even more diverse is the shopping center's Target Superstore, which carries almost any item of merchandise you might be seeking. The Target store's phone number is 303/273-9940. Target has entrances both from inside the mall and from the outside, as well. Store hours at Target are longer than Colorado Mills Mall's shopping hours. Mondays through Saturdays, Target opens at 8 am and closes at 10 pm. On Sundays, Target's opening time remains at 8 am, but its closing time is at 9 pm. There is a pharmacy at this Target location; Target pharmacy phone number is (303) 273-9949. There is also an optical department and a photo center at this store. All 3 of these specialty departments maintain shorter hours of operation than Target's general hours. Whether or not you love to bargain-hunt, you'll undoubtedly enjoy seeing one of the newly-released films on your "must see" list at the mall's modern UA 16 Theaters.
Every auditorium at this state-of-the-art cinema has stadium-style seating. All auditoriums also feature digital sound and ultra-plush seating, as well as extra-wide screens. Who doesn't like a fun game of miniature golf? At the Colorado Mills Mall, you can play golf indoors...in the dark...with all the props around you lit up under the glow of black lighting! Others in your group might enjoy bowling or playing video games at an upscale arcade. If so, head to Jillian's, Lakewood's location of a chain which aims to bring a bit of luxury to its modern bowling alleys. Jillian's Hi-Life phone number is 303/277-9370. Jillian's observes different hours of operation than the rest of the mall. Jillian's opens at 11 am daily (and has full restaurant facilities for lunch, dinner and snacks!) Sundays through Wedsnesdays, Jillian's closes at midnight. On Thursdays, Jillian's closing time is at 1 am; and on Fridays and Saturdays, you can keep rolling the ball down the lanes until 2 am! You'll find a large and attractive food court at the Colorado Mills Mall. It features an array of cuisines...in "fast food" style, so you can grab a tasty meal, then keep right on shopping. A lovely children's carousel graces the center of the food court, where kids can take a spin for a nominal fee.
