The Elitch Gardens theme park is not open year-round. Elitch Gardens generally opens in April (when the weather starts warming up in Denver.) The amusement park always closes in late October/early November (after its Halloween Fright Fest activities are over.)Elitch Gardens is open daily during the summer vacation season. During the spring and fall, the park is open on selected dates, such as "weekends only." At times, the theme park may be open...but not for the general public. Elitch's rents its facilities to private groups. (Elitch Gardens also gets visitors from school field trips, but the theme park stays open to the public on field trip days.) Elitch Gardens Inclement Weather Policy: Most theme park don't give their customers tickets for a return visit if they visit on a day that turns rainy...but Elitch's does! If it should start to rain during your visit, there will still be some attractions staying open for you to enjoy while you're waiting for the rain to pass...the game arcade, for example, along with Elitch's stores and restaurants. But the Elitch Gardens folks know that you visit this popular Denver amusement park to do more than eat, shop and play games. You want to ride the rides! Yet, it's unsafe to operate theme park rides in the rain. Therefore, if any of the following rides are closed for more than 90 minutes, you will get a free ticket to return a different day! These popular Elitch rides are: the Minderaser roller coaster; the Twister II coaster; the Boomerang roller coaster; the Half Pipe thrill ride; and the Island Kingdom water park. Elitch Gardens schedule: Below, you'll find the Elitch Gardens schedule for the rest of its 2008 season, including both the dates the park will be open, as well as its hours of operation on each of these days. Note: Elitch's opening date for 2008 was April 19th. Elitch Gardens water park schedule: The Elitch water park has a shorter schedule of operation than does the theme park. Nevertheless, you'll find the water park is open during Denver's hottest days to give you a refreshing break from the heat. Elitch Gardens hour of operation: May 2008Saturday, May 17 & Sunday, May 18, Elitch's opening time is 10 am and closing time is at 8 pm Monday thru Thursday, May 19, 20, 21 & 22, Elitch's opens at 9 am & closes at 4 pm Firday, May 23, the amusement park's opening time is 9 am & its closing time is 9 pm Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25, Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am & closes at 9 pm Monday thru Friday, May 26, 27, 28, 29 & 30, Elitch hours are 10 am to 9 pm Saturday, May 31, Elitch Gardens will open at 10 am and close at 9 pm. The Elitch Gardens water park opens today. Elitch Gardens theme park hours: June & July 2008Elitch Gardens hours for the months of June and July 2008 are simple!Every day, the Elitch Gardens theme park opens at 10 am and closes at 9 pm! This means every day of the week, Monday thru Sunday, both weekends AND weekdays. 4th of July holiday: Elitch's amusement park observes no special hours for Independence Day. Hours remain 10 am to 9 pm. Open every day, no exceptions: Elitch Gardens will not be closed to the public for private events any day during June or July. During the month of August, 2008, Elitch's theme park will observe the following dates and hours of operation:Friday, August 1st thru Sunday, August 17th: Elitch Gardens will open at 10 am and close at 9 pm Monday thru Thursday, August 18, 19, 20 & 21: What a sad week! This is the week that Elitch Gardens will start closing on many weekdays! Elitch's theme park will be closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Friday, Aug 22; Saturday, Aug 23; Sunday, Aug 24: More sad days! Elitch's schedule of operation for the month of Sept 2008 is as follows---Monday, September 1: Labor Day opening time at Elitch Gardens will be 10 am; closing time will be 8 pm. Elitch Gardens water park's last day of operation for the 2008 season. Tuesday thru Friday, Sept 2, 3, 4, 5: Elitches will be closed. If you see people having fun at the park on Friday, that's because a private event is scheduled for that day Saturday, September 6: Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm Sunday, September 7: theme park hours are 10 am to 6 pm Monday thru Friday, Sept 8, 9, 10, 11, 12: Elitch Gardens closed these days.
