The Elitch Gardens theme park is not open year-round. Elitch Gardens generally opens in April (when the weather starts warming up in Denver.) And, this year was no exception. Elitch Gardens opened Saturday, April 25, 2009 for a whole new season of fun! During spring and fall months, Elitch Gardens is not be open every day. But, during the times when people take their summer vacations...more and more days are added to the theme park's schedule.Elitch Gardens is open daily during the summer vacation season. Then, as summer winds down & the school year begins, Elitch Gardens whittles its hours of operation back to "weekends only" again. When does Elitch Gardens close for the season? The amusement park always closes in late October/early November (after its Halloween Fright Fest activities are over.) Elitch Gardens Inclement Weather Policy: Most theme park don't give their customers tickets for a return visit if they visit on a day that turns rainy...but Elitch's does! If it should start to rain during your visit, there will still be some attractions staying open for you to enjoy while you're waiting for the rain to pass...the game arcade, for example, along with Elitch's stores and restaurants. But the Elitch Gardens folks know that you visit this popular Denver amusement park to do more than eat, shop and play games. You want to ride the rides! Yet, it's unsafe to operate theme park rides in the rain. Therefore, if any of the following rides are closed for more than 90 minutes, you will get a free ticket to return a different day! These popular Elitch rides are: the Mind Eraser roller coaster; the Twister II coaster; the Boomerang roller coaster; the Half Pipe thrill ride; and the Island Kingdom water park. Elitch Gardens water park schedule: The Elitch water park has a shorter season of operation than does the theme park. Nevertheless, you'll find the water park is open during Denver's hottest days to give you a refreshing break from the heat. Saturday, May 2: Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm Sunday, May 3: Hours are 10 am until 7 pm Monday, May 4 thru Wednesday, May 6: Theme park closed on these weekdays. Thursday, May 7: Elitch Gardens opening time is at 9 am and closing time is at 10 pm Friday, May 8: Elitch Gardens is closed for a private event today Sunday, May 10: 10:30 pm to 7 pm Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12: Elitch's closed these 2 days Wednesday, May 13 & Thursday, May 14: Park hours are 9 am to 4 pm Friday, May 15: Elitch Gardens opening time is 9 am and closing time is 4 pm. Elitch Gardens hours for the months of June and July 2009 are simple!Every day during these 2 summer vacation months, the Elitch Gardens theme park opens at 10 am and closes at 9 pm! This means every day of the week, Monday thru Sunday, both weekends AND weekdays. 4th of July holiday: Elitch's amusement park observes no special hours for Independence Day. Hours remain 10 am to 9 pm. Open every day, no exceptions: Elitch Gardens will not be closed to the public for private events any day during June or July. Elitch Gardens Operating Hours--August, 2009Bad news! August is the month when Elitch's begins to cut back its operating schedule! Not only do hours get shorter on many days, but also Elitch Gardens will begin CLOSING on some days of the month. So soon summer vacation seems to end! Here are the August, 2009 hours at Elitch Gardens---Dates Elitch's is open 10 am to 9 pm: On some days of August, the Elitch Gardens theme park will open at 10 am and close at 9 pm. These dates are: August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 28, and 29. Dates Elitch's is open 10 am to 8 pm: August 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. Dates that Elitch Gardens will be CLOSED: Don't head to Elitch's on the following days of August, 'cause you can't get in! (On several of these dates, you may see people inside of the theme park, but they're there with private parties.) The "closed" dates for Elitch Gardens are August 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31. Elitch Gardens Hours--September 2009Dates the park is closed: MOST weekdays in September, Elitch Gardens will be closed. Except for Monday, 9/7 (Labor day) and 2 Fridays (9/11 and 9/18) every other weekday you won't be able to visit the park. Dates that Elitch's hours are 5 pm to 10 pm: On 2 dates in September, Friday the 11th and Friday the 18th, Elitch Gardens opens at 5 pm and closes at 10 pm Dates that Elitch Gardens hours are 10 am to 8 pm: On the following dates of September, 2009, Elitch Gardens will open at 10 am & close at 8 pm: September 5, 6, 7, 12, 19 & 26. Dates that Elitch's hours are 10 am to 6 pm: On 3 dates, Elitch Gardens opening time is at 10 am & closing time is at 6 pm. These dates are Sept 13, 20 & 27. Elitch Gardens Hours--October, 2009Exciting things happen at Elitch Gardens in October! It's Halloween season...and Elitch's popular Fright Fest begins! Daytimes feature fun, non-scary activities your kids will enjoy. And, after dark, the frightening fun begins! Here are Elitch Gardens Hours for October, 2009:All Mondays thru Thursdays: Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in October, 2009, Elitch Gardens will be closed. Friday hours in October: On Friday, Oct 2nd, Elitch's will be closed to the general public for a private event. Every other Friday (October 9, 16, 23, 30) Elitch Gardens WILL be open for Fright Fest activities. On these dates, the park's opening time is 5 pm & its closing time is 10 pm. Saturday hours in October: Elitch Gardens WILL be open every Saturday in October. Hours of operation will be 12 noon until 10 pm. Sunday hours in October: Elitch Gardens WILL be open every Sunday for Fright Fest. On Sundays, the theme park's opening hour is 12 noon and its closing time is at 9 pm.
