The Elitch Gardens theme park is not open year-round. Elitch Gardens generally opens when the weather starts warming up in Denver. This year will be no exception. Elitch Gardens opened Saturday, May 1, 2010 for a whole new season of fun! During spring and fall months, Elitch Gardens is not open every day. But, during the times when people take their summer vacations...more and more days are added to the theme park's schedule.Elitch Gardens is open daily during the summer vacation season. This includes the entire months of June and July. Then, as summer winds down & the school year begins, Elitch Gardens whittles its hours of operation back to "weekends only" again. When does Elitch Gardens close for the season? The amusement park always closes in late October/early November (after its Halloween Fright Fest activities are over.) Elitch Gardens Inclement Weather Policy: Most theme park don't give their customers tickets for a return visit if they visit on a day that turns rainy...but Elitch's does! If it should start to rain during your visit, there will still be some attractions staying open for you to enjoy while you're waiting for the rain to pass...the game arcade, for example, along with Elitch's stores and restaurants. But the Elitch Gardens folks know that you visit this popular Denver amusement park to do more than eat, shop and play games. You want to ride the rides! Yet, it's unsafe to operate theme park rides in the rain. Therefore, if any of the following rides are closed for more than 90 minutes, you will get a free ticket to return a different day! These popular Elitch rides are: the Mind Eraser roller coaster; the Twister II coaster; the Boomerang roller coaster; the Half Pipe thrill ride; and the Island Kingdom water park. Elitch Gardens water park schedule: The Elitch water park has a shorter season of operation than does the theme park. Nevertheless, you'll find the water park is open during Denver's hottest days to give you a refreshing break from the heat. Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm Sunday, May 2: Hours are 10 am until 7 pm Monday, May 3 thru Friday, May 7: Elitch Gardens is closed these 5 dates Saturday, May 8: 10 am to 8 pm Sunday, May 9: 10 am to 7 pm Monday, May 10 thru Wednesday, May 12: Elitch's closed these 3 days Thursday, May 13: Park hours are 9 am to 9 pm Friday, May 14: Elitch Gardens will be closed today for a private event. Sunday, May 16: Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm today Monday and Tuesday, May 17 & 18: Theme park closed these 2 days Wednesday & Thursday, May 19 & 20: Hours for these dates are 9 am until 4 pm Friday, May 21: Hours are 9 am to 4 pm. Elitch Gardens hours for the months of June and July 2010 are simple!Every Saturday during June & July Elitch Gardens will open at 10 am and close at 10 pm! Every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 9 pm. There are only 2 exceptions: Sunday, July 4th and Sunday, July 18th. 4th of July holiday: Elitch's amusement park observes special extra-long hours for Independence Day. Hours will be 10 am to 10 pm. Sunday, July 18: Park visitors get an extra hour of playtime today; hours will be 10 am until 10 pm. Open every day, no exceptions: Elitch Gardens will not be closed to the public for private events any day during June or July. Island Kingdom Water Park Hours: Every day in June and July, 2010, the Island Kingdom Waterpark section of Elitch Gardens will open at 10 am and close at 6 pm. Elitch Gardens Operating Hours--August, 2010Dates Elitch's is open 10 am to 9 pm: On some days of August, the Elitch Gardens theme park will open at 10 am and close at 9 pm. These dates are: August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, and 28. Dates Elitch's is open 10 am to 8 pm: August 9, 10, 11 & 12. Dates Elitch Gardens will be open 10 am to 6 pm: August 16, 17, 18 & 19. Dates that Elitch Gardens will be CLOSED: Don't head to Elitch's on the following days of August, 'cause you can't get in! (On several of these dates, you may see people inside of the theme park, but they're there with private parties.) The "closed" dates for Elitch Gardens are August 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30 and 31. Island Kingdom Water Park hours: Elitch's in-park water park area will be OPEN on every date that Elitch's theme park is open. Water park hours will be 10 am until 6 pm. Elitch Gardens Hours--September 2010Gone are the months when Elitch Gardens is open every day of the week! This month, you'll notice a big cut-back on the amount of dates the theme park is open. Here is the schedule of dates & times that Elitch Gardens is open in September:September 1 & 2: Elitch Gardens will be closed these 2 weekdays. Friday, September 3: Elitch hours are 5 pm until 10 pm; water park closed today. Saturday, Sept 4 & Sunday, Sept 5: For the Labor Day weekend, Elitch Gardens hours will be 10 am until 9 pm. Water park hours will be 10 am until 6 pm. Monday, September 6: Memorial Day holiday hours at Elitch Gardens will be 10 am until 8 pm. Water park hours will be 10 am until 6 pm. This is the Island Kingdom water park's LAST operating day for 2010. EVERY OTHER WEEKDAY IN SEPTEMBER: Elitch Gardens will be closed. Exciting things happen at Elitch Gardens in October! It's Halloween season...and Elitch's popular Fright Fest begins! Daytime hours will feature cute, non-scary activities that your younger kids will enjoy. And, after dark, the frightening thrills begins! Here are Elitch Gardens Hours for October, 2010:All Mondays thru Thursdays: Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in October, 2010, Elitch Gardens will be closed. Friday hours in October: Every Friday (October 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) Elitch Gardens WILL be open for Fright Fest activities. On these dates, the park's opening time is 5 pm & its closing time is 10 pm. Saturday hours in October: Elitch Gardens WILL be open every Saturday in October. Hours of operation will be 12 noon until 10 pm. Sunday hours in October: Elitch Gardens WILL be open every Sunday for Fright Fest. On almost every Sunday, the theme park's opening time will be 12 noon and its closing time will be at 9 pm. There is one exception---Halloween night. Sunday, October 31st: On Halloween night, Elitch Gardens will hold its Fright Fest from 12 noon until 10 pm. Almost all rides remain open during Fright Fest...and if you want to enjoy them one last time during 2010, today is your last day!
