ELITCH GARDENS OPENED FOR THE 2011 OPERATING SEASON ON SATURDAY, MAY 7TH! Get ready to enjoy a season of fun Elitch rides and attractions!The Elitch Gardens theme park is not open year-round. Elitch Gardens reopens every year when the weather starts warming up in Denver. 2011 will be no exception. Elitch Gardens opened on Saturday, May 7th this spring...and will be open all the way through Halloween night in October! Every year during spring and fall months, Elitch Gardens is open only on weekends and holidays. But, during the times when people take their summer vacations...more and more days are added to the theme park's schedule. Elitch Gardens is open daily during the summer vacation season. This includes the entire months of June and July. Then, as summer winds down & the school year begins, Elitch Gardens whittles its hours of operation back to "weekends only" again. Elitch Gardens Inclement Weather Policy: Most theme park don't give their customers tickets for a return visit if they come to the theme park on a day that turns rainy...but Elitch's does! If it should start to rain during your visit, there will still be some attractions staying open for you to enjoy while you're waiting for the rain to pass...the game arcade, for example, along with Elitch's stores and restaurants. But the Elitch Gardens folks know that you visit this popular Denver amusement park to do more than eat, shop and play games. You want to ride the rides! Yet, it's unsafe to operate many theme park rides during a downpour...or even a light shower. Therefore, if any of the following rides are closed for more than 90 minutes, you will get a free ticket to return a different day! These popular Elitch rides are: the Mind Eraser roller coaster; the Twister II coaster; the Boomerang roller coaster; the Half Pipe thrill ride; and the Island Kingdom water park. Elitch Gardens water park schedule: The Elitch water park has a shorter season of operation than does the theme park. Nevertheless, you'll find the water park is open during Denver's hottest days to give you a refreshing break from the heat. Weekends, though, are a great time to visit. The park is filled with families...and the crowds are very light in comparison to Summertime at Elitch's. Here's the May, 2011 operating schedule for Elitch Gardens in downdown Denver-- Saturday, May 7: It's grand opening day at Elitch's! Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm Sunday, May 8: Today's hours are 10 am until 7 pm...and you're still in time to brag that you went to Elitch Gardens on opening weekend! Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, May 9, 10, 11: Elitch Gardens is closed these three dates Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13: Special groups days at Elitch Gardens Saturday, May 14: Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 9 pm Sunday, May 15: Todays schedule at Elitch Gardens is 10 am to 7 pm Monday, May 16 & Tuesday, May 17: Elitch's closed these two days Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, May 18, 19 & 20: Elitch Gardens will host special groups today between 9 am and 4 pm. Elitch Gardens hours for the months of June and July 2011 are simple!Every Saturday during June & July Elitch Gardens will open at 10 am and close at 10 pm! Every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, Elitch Gardens opens at 10 am and closes at 9 pm. There are only a few exceptions: Monday, July 4th and Sunday, July 17th. 4th of July holiday: Elitch's amusement park observes special extra-long hours for Independence Day. Hours will be 10 am to 10 pm. Sunday, July 18: Park visitors get an extra hour of playtime today; hours will be 10 am until 10 pm. Island Kingdom Water Park Hours: Every day in June and July, 2011, the Island Kingdom Waterpark section of Elitch Gardens will open at 10 am and close at 6 pm. Elitch Gardens Operating Hours--August, 2011Sad news! August is the month when Elitch's begins to cut back its operating schedule! Not only do hours get shorter on many days, but also Elitch Gardens will begin CLOSING on some days of this month as students head back to school. So quickly summer vacation time seems to end! Here are the August, 2011 hours at Elitch Gardens---Dates Elitch's is open 10 am to 9 pm: On some days of August, the Elitch Gardens theme park will open at 10 am and close at 9 pm. These dates are: August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 27. Dates Elitch's is open 10 am to 8 pm: August 8, 9, 10, 11. Dates Elitch Gardens will be open 10 am to 6 pm: August 15, 16, 17, 18. Dates that Elitch Gardens will be CLOSED: Don't head to Elitch's on the following days of August, 'cause you can't get in! (On several of these dates, you may see people inside of the theme park, but they are attending private parties.) The "closed" dates for Elitch Gardens are August 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30 and 31. Island Kingdom Water Park hours: Elitch's in-park water park area will be OPEN on every date that Elitch's theme park is open. Water park hours will be 10 am until 6 pm. Elitch Gardens Hours--September 2011Gone are the months when Elitch Gardens is open every day of the week! This month, you'll notice a big cut-back on the amount of dates the theme park is open. Here is the schedule of dates & times that Elitch Gardens is open in September: Saturday, Sept 3 & Sunday, Sept 4: For the Labor Day weekend, Elitch Gardens hours will be 10 am until 9 pm. Water park hours will be 10 am until 6 pm. Monday, September 5: Memorial Day holiday hours at Elitch Gardens will be 10 am until 8 pm. Water park hours will be 10 am until 6 pm. This is the Island Kingdom water park's LAST operating day for 2011. EVERY OTHER WEEKDAY IN SEPTEMBER: Elitch Gardens will be closed. EVERY OTHER WEEKEND IN SEPTEMBER: Elitch Gardens is OPEN every weekend in September so that you can make the most of Denver's USUALLY good weather this month. If bad weather is predicted in the forecast for the day you want to visit, be sure to call the park to double check if it will be closing.
