The first is the year-round party store, Party City. Although they stay open all 12 months of the year, they only start bringing out their Halloween costumes and party goods in mid-August every year. When November 1st rolls around, they begin discounting or putting away their left-overs and fill the vacant space with other types of merchandise. Temporary Halloween stores like Spirit Halloween and Halloween USA only stay open about 2 months of the year. These stores quickly move into vacant buildings every September and October for the big Halloween costume rush...then leave those buildings vacant once again in November. The 2009 Texas Spirit Halloween and Halloween USA locations have been announced and stores will be opening throughout early September. These locations will be listed in the 2nd half of this page.
